Pre-Production Process Overview
Once the project receives approval, we initiate the Pre-Production phase. This stage is crucial as it lays the groundwork for the entire production process.
Our first step involves outlining and refining the creative vision, which may include expanding upon ideas provided by the client.
1. Visual References:
We gather images and examples that align with the project’s aesthetic to ensure a cohesive visual style.
2. Scripts:
If not already provided, we develop or refine scripts to clearly convey the narrative and dialogue.
3. Storyboards:
We create detailed storyboards that visually represent each scene, helping to visualize camera angles and transitions.
4. Shot Lists:
A comprehensive shot list is compiled to outline every shot needed during filming, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
Scheduling and Logistics
In addition to creative elements, we also establish a timeline for production
1. Schedules:
We develop a detailed production schedule that outlines key milestones and deadlines.
2. Casting:
We conduct auditions and select talent that best fits the roles outlined in the script.
Crew Assembly and Resource Allocation
As part of our preparation, we build our production team
1. Crew Recruitment:
We identify and hire skilled professionals across various departments such as cinematography, sound, art direction, and more.
2. Booking Talent:
Once casting is finalized, contracts are negotiated with actors and other talent involved in the project.
3. Location Scouting:
We scout and secure locations that fit the narrative requirements while considering logistical aspects like accessibility and permits.
4. Equipment Procurement:
We assess what equipment will be necessary for filming—cameras, lighting, sound gear—and arrange for rentals or purchases as needed.
